Five Rings Dog Training, a family business, began almost a decade ago. Our goal was to have a part-time second job that our family could do together. After a few years, we were able to expand and offer boarding and day care at Five Rings Pet Resort. A few years after that, we expanded again, opening Five Rings Daycare in Hanover. Though we have grown in size, our mission remains the same: To offer quality pet care and training at a fair price. We treat each animal as an individual. Every dog has their own strengths, weaknesses and needs. When your dog is with us they are treated like family. That's what we'd want for our dogs and we believe it's what your dog deserves, as well.
When not working as the owner and Head Trainer at Five Rings K-9 Services, Michael works full time as a Fire Fighter & Paramedic for the town of Whitman. With 7 (yes, SEVEN) of his own canine BFFs, Michael is a graduate of Animal Behavior Colleges school for dog trainers, and has served as a mentor trainer for new students of the program. He has completed classes in K-9 scent work, temperament testing and dog sport competition. He is a pet first aid and CPR instructor, and is also a certified evaluator for the A.K.C Canine Good Citizen program. Michael's focus and passion is working with shelter dogs and dogs struggling with behavioral issues. A good citizen in his own right, he has worked with many shelter dogs, training them to earn multiple A.K.C titles-Mike firmly believes that they're ALL good dogs. Currently, he and his two working dogs (Bear and Cassidy), are on track to earn additional A.K.C. titles.
Anissa has been working with dogs for more than four years, and works full time at Five Rings Pet Resort's daycare as a manager. Anissa and her dog Bliss have successfully completed our Basic Obedience program as well as our Agility and Rally courses. Anissa currently teaches Basic Obedience and Beginners Agility classes, and is working toward her certification to become an A.K.C Rally instructor (an ENORMOUS accomplishment!). When she's not working with dogs at Five Rings, Anissa enjoys hiking and organizing dog play dates and parties. A true dog mom, one of her favorite outdoor activities is bringing Bliss to the beach-she also loves to watch Bliss and Hank (her cat) play together. We're lucky to have Anissa on our team, and our canine clients (and their humans) love her style and her clear adoration of animals!
'When the world around me is going crazy, and I'm losing faith in humanity, I just have to take one look at my dog to know that
GOOD STILL EXISTS.'
" HE IS YOUR FRIEND, YOUR PARTNER, YOUR DEFENDER, YOUR DOG. YOU ARE HIS LIFE, HIS LOVE, HIS LEADER. HE WILL BE YOURS, FAITHFUL AND TRUE, TO THE LAST BEAT OF HIS HEART. YOU OWE IT TO HIM, TO BE WORTHY OF THE DEVOTION."
